Safety and Efficacy of Drains in Orthopaedic Surgeries

While drains have been routinely used in orthopaedic surgery for postoperative wound drainage followinginpatient surgical procedures, there are no published reports on the efficacy of outpatient orthopaedicsurgeries. This review our experience between July 2021 and January 2022 with use for35 patients having surgery. Consequences drain usage were determined by medicalchart a follow-up telephone survey which asked series questions regarding thedrains their operation. None had an infection or any other medical problem as resultof problems healing. Patients quite capable managing andremoving own drains. We conclude that effective can be safely orthopaedicsurgical procedures.
